What is Annual Leave?

Therapy House Annual Leave:

  • Annual leave is to be requested via email or in person with your manager with adequate notice (4 weeks; exceptional circumstances will always be considered).
  • Leave will be approved on a first come, first served basis - unless it is Christmas shutdown - we cannot have all clinicians or admin on leave at the same time.
  • Leave will be confirmed/denied within 24-48 hrs of request being made so that employees are able to make the necessary plans (ie. Flights should only be booked following approval to avoid problems if leave is not approved).

Annual Leave Considerations

  • Administration team members are encouraged to consider taking leave when a practitioner is taking leave (as this helps allow for sustainable clinic coverage).
  • Typically, one practitioner is able to take leave at any one time (as this helps allow for sustainable clinic coverage).
  • The best interest of the clinic and the best interest of the staff member will always be the primary considerations when leave is being considered.
  • Please consider these things when you are requesting leave - as a small team it is vitally important that we work together to share the load.

Clinician Summary:

  1. Where possible, attempt to block out annual leave in Power Diary with 3 months in advance, as clients will often book for a few months at a time and this saves later cancellations.
  2. Notify Clinic Team Leader of annual leave request.
  3. Once approved, submit leave on Xero - Leave requests that are not in Xero will not be paid by the book keeper.
  4. Communicate any upcoming leave with your clients to ensure they are informed, you are taking care of your ethical responsibilities and no appointments are scheduled on your days away.

Note: If you are cancelling any client appointments due to leave, ensure the client is first contacted and then set the appointment to 'no reminders' in Power Diary.
