Policy

Personal and Professional Conduct

All team members are expected to:

  • Ensure that their work is carried out efficiently, economically and effectively and that the standard of work reflects positively on Therapy House
  • Ensure that at all times, work and conduct is in adherence with all internal policies
  • Respect colleagues by being courteous, sensitive and considerate of others
  • Uphold the professional image of the workplace
  • Ensure clothing and appearance is neat and tidy at all times
  • Report any violations of law, ethical principles and company policies promptly
  • Observe the highest standards of honesty and integrity
  • Ensure commitments outside of work do not interfere with performance at work

Conflicts of Interest

A conflict of interest exists when there is a conflict between the personal interests of an individual and their responsibility to Therapy House, or where the professional judgment of the individual may be influenced or perceived to be influenced by their own interests. Employees are expected to act with integrity and not seek to gain unfair advantage for themselves or other individuals. If you encounter a conflict of interest, notify the management immediately.

Use of Resources

Employees must ensure that Therapy House resources, funds and equipment are used effectively and economically in the course of their duties for Therapy House use only. The use of any internal systems including intranet, Internet, email, computer storage must be strictly in compliance with Use of Computers and Equipment Policy.

Confidentiality

Employees must ensure that unapproved persons cannot access confidential and sensitive data and documents. Computer screens must be turned off and paper documents must be stored in locked cabinets when unattended.

Reception must speak at an appropriate volume on the phone to maintain patient confidentiality.

Employees may not disclose business-related information to any person (within or outside the business), or institution unless that party is approved to receive such information, nor shall the employee use such information for any purpose other than for the purpose of Therapy House.

Drugs, Alcohol and Smoking

Employees will fully comply with Therapy House’s Policy.

Procedure

Breaches of the Code of Conduct

Management must address each possible breach of this code by any person as soon as they become aware of it. The facts and circumstances of each case must be considered when deciding on appropriate actions to take.

Any breach of this Code of Conduct by employees can result in action by management that could include, among other actions, any of the following:

  • Disciplinary action
  • Transfer to another role
  • Demotion
  • Temporary suspension from work, with or without pay
  • Dismissal
  • Notification to an external agency
  • Criminal charges
